Laesa Parakkuthu...!!!

Vennila kabadi kuzhu!!- For those who are still wondering what this blog is all about, Vennila kabadi kuzhu is a soon to be released tamil film, the music of which is released over a month ago.
From the moment I first saw the audio release function of this film in TV with the legend ARR releasing the audio and Ace Director Gautham Vasudev Menon getting it, I was so eager to hear this album. Now after hearing the album, I must say that the music is well above my expectations.
So i just thought of sharing my comments about this album.

Kabadi kabadi: This is an inspirational song I guess. Starts of describing the toughness of playing kabadi beautifully,
"Vinnai thoda vanthom
Thai mannai thozhukindrom
Puzhuthi puyalukkul
Oru yutham purikindrom
Imaikkatha kangal undu
Parakkindra kaigal rendu
Vizhunthalum vetrikkottil
Ezhugindra nenjam undu"
and then becomes inspirational in the lines like
"Malai pol theriyum maduvai mudiyum
unakkathu puriyum nadakkaiyile"
This song keeps the tempo right from the start and who else than Shankar Mahadevan can give a better feel to this kind of a song.

Pada pada: This song describing the feelings of a guy who has just fallen in love is rendered beautifully by Karthik. Soothing music with simple lyrics makes this song more effective.
Lines like
"Imbuttu azhaga imbuttu azhaga
ithu vara naanum irunthathilla",
"Unna partha piragu thane
puthusa satta pottu thiriyurane"
are simple but at the same time describes the feelings of the guy effectively.

Laesa parakuthu: Here comes the pick of the album(according to me). This song captured my mind right from the first listening. This duet song sung by Karthik and chinmayee is a sure shot winner with some mind blowing melody. Well done, SelvaGanesh!! I loved the way the song starts.
"Allippoo kulathila kalla pol unthan
kan vizhi thaakida suthi suthi ninnaen"
I really liked the comparison(uvamai!!) by the poet(Na.Muthukumar)!

Uyiril yetho: This is a slow, sweet melody(short one too!!) that may take time to grow on you. Again perfect choice of singer in the name of Haricharan, who as usual has given his best with his sweet voice. While "pada pada" described the feelings of a person who just fell in love, this one describes the sweet memories of love!
"Parthu pazhagiya pozhuthugal
Manadhil viriyudhey
Adhu indru ethirinil nindru than
Nagarnthida marukkuthey!!"
Great lyrics again by Na.Muthukumar!!

Vandanam vandanam: This starts like a typical village folk number like the ones we have heard from 'Paruthiveeran' and 'Subramaniyapuram' and then takes some twists and finally comes back to the folk.

Overall, this album is a great one with a good mix of songs. SelvaGanesh has really proved his worth as a perfect protégé of 'Isaipuyal' ARR, especially in the melodies. The team looks very young and determined, stills kindling interests and if the director comes up with a good work, this film might very well become the "Subramaniyapuram of 2009"!!!
